It will be interesting to see how the government and union standoff in Wisconsin ends. While my father and my son were and are union members it is my opinion that unions have gotten too big and unnecessary. The federal government now protects what the original union did in the past. The current unions are operating ‘ for the good of their members’ only to keep members paying dues. They are not operating with any common sense. Even last week the union endorsed a 'hold out' of the teachers. That by itselfs is against their own agreement. They want to enforce the agreement against the giver (employer) but they don't want the agreementt enforced against their members. Really what sense does it make to demand so much to be given away that you bankrupt the giver? What looks good on paper does not always work because no one can predict the future. What can be predicted is that the union greed is going to cost the workers in the long run because the ‘givers’ can no longer afford to give and the takers are going to be left with nothing……………..but remember…………the union organizers will have theirs.
